Leader of Learning - English & LOTE - Mr Aidan Linehan

The English curriculum allows students to develop and expand their literacy skills by engaging them with the power of words and images to nurture a love of English. With a wide variety of immersive English curriculum opportunities available, St Joseph’s aims to help students express themselves and their ideas with fluency and clarity, ensuring that positive interactions and a respect for diversity is fostered.

Reading for pleasure is also incorporated into lessons providing students with the opportunity to read materials which satisfy their interests and capabilities. Across the College, the use of a common approach to writing (TEEEC paragraph structure) has been implemented to enhance the capacity and sophistication of the student’s writing.
