Principal's Welcome

It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to the website of St Joseph’s College, a Catholic school in the Josephite tradition located in Lochinvar, New South Wales. St Joseph’s is a co-educational secondary school that provides a rich and diverse educational experience for students from Years 7 to 12. Whether you are already a part of the St Joseph’s College community, or browsing our website to develop an understanding of the College, I hope that you gain some insights regarding this special place that we affectionately refer to as ‘Lochinvar’

St Joseph’s College aspires to be a place where Gospel values are witnessed, excellence in academic, cultural and sporting pursuits is promoted, where students actively engage in social justice initiatives, where leadership skills are nurtured and where a sense of connection to the wider community is encouraged. The mantra of ‘St Joseph’s students can do anything’ is an encouragement for students not only to dream of possibilities, but to adopt a growth mindset so that they can live, learn and achieve.

Located on the grounds of the foundation house of the Sisters of St Joseph who arrived from Perthville in 1883, the College maintains a strong connection with the congregation and the Josephite charism. This charism guides us in forming a faith-filled community inspired by justice and service.

The staff of St Joseph’s College are passionate about the development and learning of our students, and committed to enabling them to become young adults of strength, spirit and integrity. It is our hope that by the time our students leave St Joseph’s, they do so as confident, creative, energetic, young men and women, who are ready to question and express opinions, who are prepared in the Josephite way, to roll their sleeves up and commit to serving the needs of others; who are prepared to challenge stereotypes, and interact with others using a strong moral compass.

We understand that parents/carers want their children to be well educated, to be happy and cared for within a learning community that provides firm foundations for their future adult life. We believe that the foundation laid through an education at St Joseph’s College, together with positive partnerships with parents and carers will enable our students – your children, to learn to grow and change, understand what it means to love and respect themselves and each other, and aspire to be the best person they can be.
