Justice & Service

“…they need to be led to that encounter with God in Christ which awakens their love and opens their spirits to others, so that their educational commitment becomes a consequence deriving from their faith, a faith which becomes active through love.”

(Educating Together in Catholic Schools, 25, cf Deus Caritas Est, 31)

St Joseph’s College takes pride as a Catholic school to offer ourselves in service of God and others. Service or mission, means being called to become the agents for the new evangelisation, working in collaboration to reach out and witness to Jesus Christ, in the power of the Holy Spirit. Through service, our desire to make a difference in the world can be developed, through direct opportunities and a commitment to justice. A school that is grounded in service, acts through mercy and justice to build the kingdom of God. (A heart that sees, Catholic schools in mission, 2010)
