Counselling

St Joseph's has the services of a Clinical Psychologist, provided through the Catholic Schools Office, working at the school. The psychologist provides support with academic and social assessments. Recommendations are made to assist parents and teachers to cater for the ongoing educational needs of the students.

Access to the Clinical Psychologist can occur via a number of avenues:

  1. Self-referral – students wishing to access the service can go to student services and book an appointment
  2. Staff-referral – students may be referred to the psychologist by a staff member
  3. Parent request – parents who wish for their child to access the service can contact the relevant student coordinator who will arrange the appointment.

The Clinical Psychologist focuses on supporting students to achieve to their potential at school. For complex issues requiring more intensive or broader focus, our Clinical Psychologist will work to support families in accessing external psychologist support.
